The Olea Europaea olive tree is an emblematic tree of the Mediterranean culture. This tree produces its fruit, the olive, at the end of autumn or in winter, and from it olive oil is obtained, very appreciated for its great quality. It is a leafy, slow-growing tree, which usually does not exceed 10 meters in height. It is very resistant to poor soils and cold, although frost can affect the production of fruits. The olive tree is the most characteristic tree of the Mediterranean region and has a great capacity for regeneration and longevity, since it can live more than 1,500 years.
