Fruits as common as lemon or orange come from trees called citrus. It is usually a subtropical plant, not too demanding with the quality of the soil and able to withstand temperatures close to 0 °. However, citrus fruits prefer moderate temperatures, with plenty of sun. Most citrus fruits are self-fertile, so a pollinator is not required. An isolated citrus will give a fruit that, from fruiting, will take between 6 and 8 months to be ripe for consumption.
